You will see me posting on my website frequently. These are my personal opinions and stories, and they do not reflect the views of others. I wanted to start this discussion to see how many parents out there are doing the GFCF diet, and what the outcomes were. My son started the diet in December and we were lucky enough to see MAJOR improvement in his behavior. But I have heard that some parents see no changes from the diet. I would love to hear your stories. I would love to also get some new recipe ideas from the community. Cooking GFCF and getting creative is super hard to do! Any advice would help!

My name is Kim and I actually spoke with you via email about 1 month ago. You had referred me to Dr. Udell. He is great by the way! My son has be on the GFCF diet for about 1 1/2 months now and we have already seen a difference in his eye contact, mood, and awareness of surroundings. I am still trying to figure everything out as my son is a very picky eater (always has been) He suffers reflux and sensory issues with food. I dont know how much of this is due to his prematurity or his PDD. He did start to eat better when first switched to this diet but the last 10 days have been tough again with not eating. He hasn't been feeling too great though because he is experiencing pretty bad yeast die off symptoms. Does your son take any protein supplements now that he does not drink cow's milk? I saw your post about starting B12, how is that going. We will be starting those next month:)
Look forwarding to talking to you and other mom's in our area!

We just love him & Karen ! A great place that has alot of GFCF options at the best prices is in Coral Springs and is called Tunie's (On Coral Ridge & Westview) My bill is 1/2 the cost of anywhere else and they have a HUGE selection .. all organized and easy to find GFCF items. I'll give a list of things my son eats and loves. The yeast die off was horrible with us for 2 weeks, then got better followed by HUGE gains. We still battle to keep the yeast under control (7 months on it now) and learn everyday about hidden sources of Gluten. It takes a while. No, we do not take Protein supplements, he does well eating meats, poultry & beef. We do supplement with BioMax Hypoallergenic Calcium from Kirkman labs. We also do Super Nu Thera Multi, Three Lac Probiotics, Liposomal Gluthatione, and just started MB12. The MB12 is amazing! He is stringing together sentences after 2 1/2 weeks on it! It's really helping his language alot! I started Spectrum Mom's Club of Broward on this site. Pleas join and we can share stories, photos & advice! -Rachael

I was browsing through some of the forums and this one really caught my eye. I went away to school a few years ago to North Carolina where I work as a CSI ( community service instructor) for thier Autism Society. I worked there for years with a low functioning non-verbal child, so although I am not a parent of a child with Autism I read your blogs and really understand you. I noticed when I first moved back and started working again at the gym that Miami is really lacking in the amount of support that they should have for the families. That is one reason why I am majoring in social work in hopes to make some great chances, however unitl then I try make sure to put it out thier through autism speaks, and contacting the schools that I am here, I have been trained, and love working with autistic children. I just wanted to let you know because I do teach non-competitive gymnastics & fitness, birthday parties, field trips, and art class. If you guys are ever looking for somewhere to bring your little where they can have fun in a safe nurturing enviroment. Please feel free to contact me by email at mygymdoral@hotmail.com, or by phone at (305) 500-9688. Happy Holidays! Shelley

When i first started him on it, i saw a huge difference (well that is what is thought) over the summer i decided to take him off and see what happend. Well no inmediate changes and now he has been off the diet completely and still no changes, he is growing up so there are always different challenges in regards of his condition PDD-nos, he is doing great so i decided to keep him off the diet. I think it is different on every kid, like i said before i really thought he was improving and doing great bc of the diet and now that he is off he is still progressing the same way. I am still open for opinions on it. I give my son Coromega recomended by Dr. Aronson-Ramos which is a great Developmental Pediatrician have you heard of her? keep posting ladies very intesting subject
